If you have a driving licence from either an EU country or Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, you can use it in Denmark. You can choose to have it exchanged for a Danish EU driving licence without a controlling driving test if you are domiciled in Denmark. If you are a temporary resident of Denmark, you can use an international driving licence or a valid foreign driving licence. If you don't have it, you can get a tourist driver's license from the police.
You must contact a Borgerservice (citizen service centre) in one of the municipalities in the country to have your foreign driving licence exchanged for a Danish driving licence.
Please remember to bring:
– Medical certificate (issued by your own doctor).
– Your own driving license (translated into English)
– Valid passport
– Residence permit (if you are not a Danish of EU citizen)
